Today we will solve one the mock tests to practice for the checkpoint exam you will have in eight grade.

This simulation includes topics you have learnt in previous years, but we are going to have 20 minutes to review some of those topics. Feel free to study the ones you feel you have more weaknesses in, so you have a better idea during the test:

-
Metals and non-metals
-
Digestive system
-
Circulatory system
-
Sound waves (Pitch and loudness)
-
Magnets and their poles
-
Chemical symbols
-
Human reproduction process

Today we finish our first unit of the year: reactions are fun. This is why we will solve an activity that allows us to summarize some of the essential compounds we studied during the reactions topic.

According to the Collins dictionary, "inorganic" means <<Not having the characteristics of living organisms, not organic or not made mainly of carbon atoms>>. This word is used to describe compounds that are not the base for living things, but that are very useful in our daily lives.

1. Visit the Libretext website and answer:
a) Define what is an oxide?
b) What is it meant by binary compound?
c) Give 4 examples of oxides (formulae and names)

2. Visit the practically website and answer:

a) Acids can be classified as mineral or organic. Explain the difference
b) Give 1 example of each type and mention 1 use

3. Visit the Reagent website and answer:

a) What is meant by a salt in chemistry?
b) How many types of salts are there? just the number, not the names
c) Do all salts taste salty?
d) Are all salts transparent?
e) Explain and draw how are salts formed?
